about me

i'm allie. born and raised in cincinnati, ohio. just recently engaged to the best guy ever - zack. i'm an auditor by day, diy project queen as my weekend trade (along with working for loulou's boutique). i also LOVE dogs - and have two of them myself - both of which are known to cause trouble - hence we call them "trouble 1" and "trouble 2/ badba"

i love building. i love tools. i love decorating. all of these traits come from my parents, of course. my mom has a fabulous eye for decorating, my father loves anything that has a need for using tools - currently he is rebuilding a vintage 1952 chris-craft cruiser (it was supposed to be done when i was 15, i was born in 1987 ... you do the math).

zack and i purchased our first home in newport, ky - just across the great river from cincinnati. being our first home we had next to no furniture. i loved everything from all the expensive stores - ethan allen, pottery barn, restoration hardware... but we have an ikea budget. fortunately, this dilemma has a happy ending...  i have free access to any and all tools, so, without further ado - the documentation of my diy projects begins.
